Family and friends travel from far and wide to join newlyweds to celebrate the best day of their lives. Dating back to 16th century England, wedding favors are a great way to remember your big day by for years to come. Above all else, wedding favors are used to thank guests for attending your wedding.

Too often, though, wedding favors are set aside or end up in the trash. To make sure your guests appreciate them, you have to think ‘practically’ by offering guests something creative and unexpected, yet also functional (here the list of the best wedding party favors for guests).

You need to think carefully about how’re going to customize your packaging with boxes, ribbons and labels. Try and resist the urge to place your personalized wedding stamp in plain sight on the object itself, making it unusable in future.

We’ve rounded up some adorable and unusual wedding favors that are sure to impress. All you need to do is choose the one that best matches your wedding theme and venue, and best represents you and your partner. Don’t forget to order a few extras for last minute guests!

Edible Wedding Favor

This is the most traditional wedding favor. In the past, edible wedding favors consisted of ceramic, silver or crystal boxes containing sweet treats. These days, the contents are much more varied, inspired by the gastronomy of the country in which you’re getting married, or indeed by your family origins. If you particularly like champagne or, say, olive oil, you can offer your guests miniature bottles with personalized labels. If you’re getting married on the Amalfi Coast or in Sicily, you could opt for a good limoncello, for example. It’s wise to choose foodie products with a medium/long term expiry date.

Scent-ual Wedding Favor

A unisex perfume, the home fragrance used to scent your wedding venue, a scented soap with your wedding logo, miniature candles, such as those by Dyptyque or Jo Malone, are all exclusive and refined choices that make for lovely alternatives to more traditional favors. You’ll have to think carefully about the choice of aroma (spicy, earthy or floral), making sure it is seasonally appropriate. Don’t forget to try a sample before you place your order.

Eco-Friendly Favor

Eco-Friendly favors are decidedly more rustic and less expensive, perfect for a country wedding, perhaps for an open-air reception. Succulents, chili pepper plants and miniature growing kits are just some examples for nature lovers.

Wedding Favor Accessories

There are plenty of options for this type of wedding favor, including key rings, leather diaries, pocket emptiers, ashtrays, lighters, safety gas lighters, bottle openers, earphones, iPhone charging pads, lugagge tag holders, passport cases, personalized golf balls, and so on. Make sure you choose something that represents you both as a couple.

Beach Wedding Favor

If you’re planning a tropical wedding or a beach ceremony, you could opt for a practical item, such as sun cream. Your guests will most certainly appreciate it. Don’t forget to patch test the cream – you wouldn’t want to cause your guests an allergic rash! More sophisticated, fun items include straw bags with unisex sunglasses and beachwear sets, complete with towels, cosmetic bags and creams.

Textile Favor

Cashmere or woolen gloves, scarves and hats with personalized labels make for comfy and cozy options, and are perfect to keep your guests warm at a winter wedding. They’ll look great in group photos, too. Blankets, placemat sets and personalized napkins are great alternatives for all seasons.

Jewel Box Favor

Cufflink and watch boxes for him, and earrings and ring boxes for her. If you want to splash out and spoil your guests, jewel wedding favors are wonderfully luxurious and particularly sought-after. Given their value, and the fact that most items are rather fragile, we recommend you deliver them directly to your guests’ homes.

Covid-19 Wedding Favor

As unpleasant as this may sound, we need to adapt to every situation and circumstance in which we are living. And that includes a worldwide pandemic. For couples planning a wedding celebration during Covid-19, safety is a priority, with guests heeding to social distancing and hygiene measures. An original and useful wedding favor could include personalized face masks and mini hand sanitizers.

Photo Album Wedding Favor

A real gem of a wedding favor, and a little eccentric too, home delivered to your closest guests. This wedding favor features an album with pop-up pages featuring childlike, hand-drawn pictures of guests during the most important moments of your wedding. Not particularly useful but certainly unusual and sentimental.
